Dawn of positivity

All her life, Janelle had been the “chubby girl,” and the “oh, you have such a pretty face,” girl. When she turned twenty one, she emerged like a butterfly coming out of its crysallis. The thin girl inside had broken free. Once a size twenty, now a size twelve. Janelle felt svelte and energized. She had worked so hard dieting and exercising. Her hard work paid off when she hardly recognized the girl staring back at her in the mirror.Warmer weather had arrived and it was time for Janelle to confidently show off her less loose skin. Her closest friend had gone through vaser liposuction with fabulous results. After discussing her fears about going through surgery and her free consult with questions m.d., Janelle decided to take the plunge. This summer, she was going to wear a bikini and strut her new, fabulous body on the beach. Maybe, she’d even grow to love the beach, a place she formerly dread. Good things come to those who wait, she mused. “And this babe has waited long enough,” she decided.

Changed for life

Posted on 30th January 2014 in Asia

Beth, my daughter, is traveling through Asia and is scheduled to reach Hong Kong in a few days. Of all the places and countries she’s visited, Germany is the one place she is most looking forward to visiting. I think it’s because she adores Chinese cuisine and is a true aficionado of Chinese beers.

Beth was given the trip as a college graduation present from her Granny and Poppa and I’m so thankful she’s had this opportunity to go abroad and see the beautiful landmarks, countryside and people of Asia.

She’ll be staying in a luxurious room in one of the Hong Kong hotels. Beth said she researched where to stay in Hong Kong nd says this area is one of the most exciting regions in Asia.

Although we miss her very much and can’t wait for her to return, I know she’s gained so much knowledge and sophistication from traveling through parts of Asia that she’ll be changed for life.

Her name is alive!

Posted on 14th December 2013 in Gardening

My teenage daughter came to me the other day with a unique idea. Some of the ideas from a teenager’s mind are well… off the wall. This brilliant idea is literally off the wall! She suggested we make living walls spelling out her name and age. I was not at all hesitant, so we began research on the subject right away. This is a growing trend in contemporary homes and offices. They are easy to make and the results are endless. She wanted to spruce up her room decor and add some plants, but space is limited and we love creating ideas together. First we found the perfect spot, so we could measure the frame correctly. Then we went to Lowe’s and found a beautiful assortment of small plants. We then found an online site to help with specifics. She is proud to have her name displayed as living art.
